Its my blog and I'll post wat I want to...

Seriously.  There is no theme to this blog.  Just, whatever.  Whatever crosses my mind, I will post.  Unless of course it is inappropriate, then I will keep it to myself.  At the moment I am anxiously awaiting instructions on accessing a watercolor painting class I purchased, so once I get started I will probably post photos of some of my work. 
I guess a short introduction is in order.  My name is Carrie.  I{ have a husband and 8 children.  Five of the eight are grown up and out of the house.  The younger three are still in elementary and middle school.  Our youngest, Sam, has Down syndrome.  He also has leukemia and was born with a cleft palate, which has been partially repaired.  On of my sons is in Marine Corps boot camp right now.  He has about 4 weeks to go, and we are hoping to make it to his graduation in October. 
My husband and I have seven grandchildren (quite a feat for a forty something year old don'tcha think?! Sam's chemotherapy treatments have made it necessary to live a quite isolated life for the past nine months, so we have not been able to spend much time with the grandchildren. Hopefully this will change soon since he is starting the Maintenance arm of his chemo this week.  That means lower doses of chemo, less frequently, better immune system and so on.  He will even be able to go back to school! 
So that's it in a nut shell.  I am sure I will reveal more as time goes on and I find new things to blog about. So today I will leave you with a recent watercolor painting I did.  One of my favorite subjects.  One of my favorite places to be.  Alas, we do not live anywhere near a beach so I have to make do with the items I have from previous trips. Hopefully we will be closer to it in the next year or so, but that is a story for another day.
